Casper Ruud confirmed for the 2027 Rio Open

Norwegian tennis player Casper Ruud has been confirmed for the 2027 Rio Open. Currently ranked in the world top 20, Ruud joins Italian player Flavio Cobolli as a featured international star for the tournament.

The Rio Open, considered the premier tennis event in South America, is scheduled to take place from February 13 to 21, 2027, at the Jockey Club Brasileiro. This marks Ruud's return to the competition after a ten-year hiatus; he previously reached the semifinals during his debut in 2017.

Tournament director Luiz Carvalho noted the significance of Ruud's return, highlighting his status as a Grand Slam finalist and one of the circuit's top clay-court players. Ticket pre-sales are set to begin in October, with general sales starting on October 13.
