Cassano shooting: Investigation continues after fatal attack in Lauropoli
An investigation is underway following a fatal shooting in the Lauropoli area of Cassano. On a Friday morning, two masked individuals on a motorcycle opened fire at a warehouse on via Pola, killing 36-year-old Giuseppe Scorza.
Renato Elia, a 50-year-old man with no prior criminal record, was also seriously wounded in the attack and remains hospitalized. Law enforcement and judicial authorities are currently analyzing surveillance footage to identify the suspects responsible for the violence.
Funeral services for Giuseppe Scorza are scheduled for Tuesday, September 1. The ceremony will include a viewing at the Cassano all'Ionio cemetery mortuary at 10:30, followed by a service at the Church of Santa Maria di Loreto at 17:00.
