Cassano allo Ionio secures PNRR funds for school safety and new hospital

The municipality of Cassano allo Ionio has secured significant funding through the PNRR to improve local infrastructure and healthcare services.

In Lauropoli, the administration has obtained 150,000 euros to upgrade the fire prevention systems at the via Feliciazza middle school. This project aims to enhance safety for students and staff, with completion expected by April 30, 2027.

Additionally, a new Community Hospital is set to become fully operational within days in Cassano allo Ionio. Located on the fourth floor of the Rione Ponte Nuovo hospital, the facility will feature 20 beds and intermediate care services for patients who do not require acute hospital wards but cannot be managed at home. The project, also funded by the PNRR, will be supported by a multidisciplinary team of over 14 professionals. Following this, a Community House is expected to activate on the third floor within two weeks.
