Cassano Magnago: Man arrested for femicide following fatal car crash

Fulvio Ielmini, 73, has been arrested in connection with the death of his former partner, 69-year-old Pierina Buffon. The arrest was carried out by Carabinieri on Monday, October 26, following a custody order from the Busto Arsizio Court.

Investigators allege the death was a femicide aggravated by futile motives. The incident occurred on October 16 on the Cassano Magnago bypass, where Ielmini’s Jaguar reportedly reached speeds of approximately 140 km/h before colliding head-on with Buffon’s vehicle. Buffon died from the impact of the crash.

Buffon and Ielmini had been in a relationship for approximately eight years until she ended it in June. Ielmini, who sustained leg injuries in the collision, is currently being held in the infirmary of the Busto Arsizio prison.
