Cassava prices in Lampung rise to Rp3,050 per kg
Cassava farmers in Lampung, Indonesia, have expressed appreciation for the policies of President Prabowo Subianto and Agriculture Minister Andi Amran Sulaiman following a significant rise in cassava prices. The commodity price has reached Rp3,050 per kilogram, a substantial increase from previous lows of approximately Rp700 per kilogram.
During a dialogue in Pringsewu, farmer representative Tri noted that the price increase, combined with lower fertilizer costs and higher production levels, has significantly improved farming conditions.
Minister Amran Sulaiman stated that the government is committed to protecting domestic farmers from the impact of imports. He emphasized that President Prabowo Subianto had ordered a halt on cassava imports to safeguard local interests after the Lampung governor reported the previous price collapse to the central government.
