Cassems to inaugurate first neonatal and pediatric ICU in Corumbá

Cassems is set to inaugurate the first neonatal and pediatric intensive care unit (ICU) in Corumbá, serving the Pantanal region. The new facility features 10 high-complexity beds, divided equally between five neonatal and five pediatric beds.

This expansion aims to decentralize specialized healthcare in Mato Grosso do Sul by reducing the need to transport critically ill infants and children to reference centers in Campo Grande, which is located over 400 kilometers away. Ricardo Ayache, president of Cassems, stated that the investment is intended to provide qualified care closer to patients' families.
