Cassia Moura becomes first UFC BJJ double champion

At UFC BJJ 12 held at the Meta APEX in Las Vegas, 20-year-old Brazilian Cassia Moura made history by becoming the organization’s first double champion. Already the reigning bantamweight champion, Moura defeated Australia’s Adele Fornarino via split decision to claim the inaugural women’s flyweight title.

The championship bout featured high-level technical exchanges. After facing pressure from Fornarino’s aggressive guard and heel hook attempts in the first round, Moura adjusted her rhythm in the second round by securing a takedown and taking Fornarino’s back. Despite continued attacks from Fornarino in the final round, Moura maintained top pressure to secure the victory.

In the co-main event, Brazilian Renato Canuto won the vacant lightweight title. Canuto secured a unanimous decision victory over Ethan Crelinsten after three rounds of technical dominance.
