Cassie Ventura Announces Permanent Move Abroad Amid Ongoing Legal Disputes

American singer Cassie Ventura filed a sworn court declaration on May 1 2026 stating she now lives outside the United States and does not plan to return, though she remains a U.S. citizen and is no longer a California resident. The filing was made in a California civil lawsuit brought by former male escort Clayton Howard, who alleges that he was hired by Ventura and Sean “Diddy” Combs for sexual encounters that left him with physical and psychological harm, an STD, and a pregnancy that ended in abortion.

Ventura’s declaration noted that attending court in New York, where her lawyers are based, would be more practical than traveling to California. Her attorney, Melodie Han, is seeking dismissal of Howard’s suit, describing the claims as a personal vendetta. The case follows Ventura’s earlier civil settlement with Combs, reported at roughly $20 million, and a separate $10 million settlement with the InterContinental Los Angeles hotel over an assault captured on video. Combs was convicted on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution and is serving a prison sentence.
