Cassie Ventura Leaves U.S. Amid Diddy-Related Lawsuit and Seeks Venue Change

Cassie Ventura, the former singer known as Cassie, has formally announced that she no longer lives in the United States and does not intend to return. Although a U.S. citizen, she states she is "not a resident of the State of California" and now resides outside the country.

Ventura filed a motion in May asking that a lawsuit filed by former sex worker Clayton Howard—who sued her and Sean “Diddy” Combs over the 2025 “freak‑offs” allegations—be transferred from California to New York, where her lawyers are located. She argued that traveling to New York would be "significantly more convenient for purposes of participation in the case" than to California, where no parties reside.

The filing also references a supportive message Howard sent to Ventura’s husband, Alex Fine, in 2023, which she plans to use in a motion to dismiss the suit. Ventura previously testified at Combs’ trial, where he received a 50‑month prison sentence for transportation to engage in prostitution, though he was acquitted of sex‑trafficking and racketeering charges. Attorneys for Ventura emphasized the importance of her statement and her continued healing.
