Cassilândia man loses R$ 12,000 to fake bank manager scam

A 68-year-old man in Cassilândia lost R$ 12,000 in a fraudulent scheme involving a fake bank manager. The victim reported to the police that he received a phone call from an individual claiming to be a bank employee.

The caller provided account details and claimed an unauthorized personal loan was being processed. To cancel the operation, the victim was instructed to follow specific directions within his banking application. Following these instructions, a R$ 9,000 loan was processed, and the perpetrator subsequently withdrew the loan amount, the victim's existing balance, and available credit, totaling R$ 12,000. The case has been registered as fraud and is under investigation.
