Cassilândia Mayor's residence flagged for unlicensed well drilling
Environmental Military Police intercepted the drilling of an unlicensed tubular well at a property in Cassilândia, Brazil. The site is identified as the residence of Mayor Rodrigo Barbosa de Freitas in a high-end neighborhood.
During the operation, officers found drilling machinery and a truck equipped with a generator in active use. The service provider informed authorities that they had been hired to perform the drilling but lacked the necessary environmental authorization.
As a result, the activity was halted, and an administrative fine of R$ 5,000 was issued to the service provider. The drilling equipment and truck were seized. While the fine was applied to the contractor, local legislation holds the property owner responsible for obtaining environmental permits and water use grants through Imasul.
