Cast changes announced for German crime series Rosenheim-Cops

The long-running ZDF crime series ‘Die Rosenheim-Cops’ is undergoing significant cast changes for its 26th season, beginning in October 2026.

Producer Marlies Moosauer confirmed that Alexander Duda, who has played Police Director Gert Achtziger since 2006, will leave the series. Moosauer described the departure as a dramaturgical decision to allow the character to retire, noting that the character had long surpassed the regular retirement age. While Duda reportedly suggested continuing the character as a pensioner, production leaders declined the proposal to facilitate the series' evolution.

Additionally, actress Miriam Stockl is set to leave the ensemble due to personal and professional reasons, marking the end of a major era for the show. The new season will feature various new cases, ranging from murders in tiny houses to investigations involving urology experts and music producers, while navigating personal storylines such as online dating and family revelations.
