Castagnabuona to celebrate Nativity of Mary at local sanctuary

The community of Castagnabuona will hold a series of religious and secular celebrations at the Santuario Nostra Signora della Croce to honor the Nativity of Mary. Organized by the local Confraternita di San Rocco e Nostra Signora della Croce, the events are scheduled throughout September.

Activities begin on September 5 with a torchlight procession from the Oratorio San Rocco to the sanctuary. Other scheduled events include a mass and guided tour on September 6, a “Via Matris Crucis” walk along the ancient “Ciappin” path on September 8, and a bell-ringing ceremony by the Associazione Campanari Liguri on September 13.

Additional community gatherings include a shared polenta dinner, storytelling sessions, and a lunch for elderly residents on September 20. Throughout the month, festive liturgical functions will be held at the sanctuary on Sundays.
