Castalla and Torrevieja announce local cultural and community initiatives

Various local cultural and community initiatives have been announced in the Valencian Community. In Castalla, the City Council and Ecovidrio, in collaboration with the Generalitat Valenciana, have launched a new edition of ‘La Reconquesta del Vidre’. This campaign aims to promote the correct recycling of glass containers during the Moros i Cristians festivals through awareness activities, decorated containers, and social media engagement.

In Torrevieja, the City Council has opened applications for the 2026/2027 Queen of Salt and her ladies-in-waiting. Candidates must be between 18 and 26 years old and either be natives of Torrevieja or have lived there for at least five years. Additionally, the eighth edition of the ‘Homenaje al Mayor’ photography contest has been announced. This competition, themed ‘Torrevieja y yo’, invites residents over the age of 60 to submit photographs that reflect their personal connection to the city.
