Castanhal renews contract with coach Guilherme Furtado for 2027

Castanhal has renewed the contract of coach Guilherme Furtado for the 2027 season. The decision follows a successful campaign in which the club secured a spot in the Brazilian Championship Série D after a five-year absence.

Under Furtado's leadership, the team reached the semifinals of the Campeonato Paraense, finishing the first phase in sixth place. The club also achieved a historic milestone in the 2026 Copa do Brasil by advancing past the first round after eliminating Guarani-SP on penalties, before being eliminated by Nova Iguaçu in the second stage.

Furtado, 36, previously worked within the club's youth categories in 2025. His tenure includes managing the professional team through recent regional and national qualification successes.
