Castel del Piano announces urban redevelopment project

The municipality of Castel del Piano has unveiled a comprehensive redevelopment project for Viale V. Veneto. Mayor Cinzia Pieraccini described the initiative as a way to improve the quality of life and services within the town, aiming to reclaim the historic center through long-term planning.

The project addresses several existing issues in the current service area, including uneven walking surfaces, accessibility barriers to historic buildings, and complications caused by tree roots and vehicle ramps. These conditions have reportedly hindered pedestrian flow between the Monument and Piazza Garibaldi, while also negatively impacting rainwater drainage and causing abnormal water accumulation.

In addition to improving accessibility for shops and offices, the plan seeks to tackle illegal parking, inadequate urban furniture, and noise and air pollution. The intervention will include new paving, the elimination of physical obstacles, improved management of rainwater, and measures to ensure the well-being of local trees and greenery.
