Castel di Sangro hit-and-run investigation underway

Authorities in Castel di Sangro are investigating a hit-and-run incident involving a 51-year-old man from the province of Naples. The victim was struck by a white van on Via XX Settembre and subsequently transported to the San Salvatore Hospital in L'Aquila via helicopter due to the severity of his injuries, which include a traumatic brain injury and spinal contusions.

The driver of the vehicle fled the scene immediately following the collision. The Carabinieri are currently reviewing municipal surveillance footage to identify the vehicle and its driver. The Public Prosecutor's Office of Sulmona has officially opened an investigation into the matter.
