Castel Goffredo man arrested for attacking parents with knife

A 29-year-old man has been arrested in Castel Goffredo, Mantova, following a violent attack on his parents. According to authorities, the man forced his way into his parents' home by breaking down the entrance door.

Once inside, the individual reportedly grabbed a kitchen knife and threatened both parents with death in an attempt to extort cash. When the parents refused to provide the money, the man physically assaulted his 63-year-old father, striking him with punches and kicks to the face.

The father sought emergency assistance by calling 112. Carabinieri officers arrived at the scene, apprehended the suspect, and transferred him to the Mantova prison. The victim was treated at the Castiglione delle Stiviere hospital and was discharged with a 12-day medical prognosis.
