Castelló and Amposta mark historical milestones and heritage preservation

The city of Castelló celebrated its 775th anniversary with a commemorative concert performed by the Banda Municipal de Castelló in the Plaça Major. The event, held on September 8, marks the anniversary of the signing of the Privilegi del Trasllat in 1251, which established the current city. Mayor Begoña Carrasco attended the event, noting that the music serves to connect citizens with their local roots and identity.

In Amposta, local discussions have highlighted the city's long history, dating back to Neolithic settlements and its role as a Hibera capital. While the city has faced challenges in preserving its historical architecture due to past speculative interests and administrative gaps, recent local government efforts have focused on recovering and repurposing historic buildings, such as converting the Sindicat into a FabLab.
