Castelló per la Llengua announces 94th anniversary of the Norms of Castellón

The unity platform Castelló per la Llengua has announced a series of commemorative events to mark the 94th anniversary of the Norms of Castellón. Under the slogan ‘A les aules i al carrer, en valencià’ (In classrooms and in the street, in Valencian), the initiative aims to advocate for the use of the Valencian language in both education and daily life.

The central celebration is scheduled for Saturday, December 12, 2026, featuring a demonstration, cultural activities, and popular traditions such as music and local festivities. The program includes a book presentation by Toni Mollà on October 28, a theatrical monologue honoring Pompeu Fabra on November 24, and a lecture by sociolinguist Avel·lí Flors Mas on December 2.

Maria Nebot, president of the platform, stated that the campaign seeks to reaffirm society's commitment to the local language and culture while supporting public education. She also called for the protection of Valencian against institutional actions that she claims undermine linguistic rights.
