Castellammare di Stabia: Man arrested for kidnapping and assaulting woman

A 26-year-old man has been arrested in Castellammare di Stabia, Naples, following the kidnapping and sexual assault of a young woman. The incident occurred during the night between August 2 and August 3.

According to investigators, the suspect met the victim through a social network and lured her to a basement in a residential building under false pretenses. Once inside, the man allegedly seized her mobile phone and blocked the only entrance using a heavy radiator to prevent her escape. The victim was reportedly held captive for several hours, during which she was subjected to physical violence, death threats, and repeated sexual assaults. Investigators noted that wooden beams were used to immobilize her.

The arrest was ordered by the judge of the Court of Torre Annunziata at the request of the local Prosecutor's Office. The suspect faces charges of sexual violence, personal injury, and aggravated kidnapping. Authorities stated that the victim's testimony was corroborated by medical reports, photographic evidence from the scene, and witness statements.
