Castellammare: Unknown graffiti by Antonio Gargiulo discovered

A previously unknown graffiti work by the late master Antonio Gargiulo has been identified in Castellammare di Stabia. The artwork, located on a wall in Vico del Carmine, depicts two boats in the Gulf of Castellammare with the silhouette of Mount Vesuvius in the background.

Gargiulo, a prominent figure of the Quisisana School who passed away in March 2026, created the piece in the winter of 2022 using charcoal. The spontaneous work was captured in photographs by lawyer Pasquale Amato, and there are currently calls to ensure the preservation of the mural.
