Castellamonte fatal accident: motorcyclist killed in collision with drunk driver

A fatal collision between a car and a motorcycle occurred on the SP59 provincial road in Castellamonte on the afternoon of Saturday, October 10. The accident, which took place around 4:00 PM near kilometer 3+500, resulted in the immediate death of a 50-year-old male resident of Turin.

Preliminary investigations suggest the car pulled onto the roadway just as the motorcycle was passing. The driver of the vehicle, a 39-year-old man, was uninjured. However, a breathalyzer test conducted by the Carabinieri revealed a blood alcohol content of 1.08 g/l, significantly exceeding the legal limit.

The 39-year-old driver has been arrested on charges of road homicide and transferred to the Ivrea prison. Authorities have seized both vehicles, and the Ivrea Public Prosecutor's Office is coordinating the investigation to determine the exact dynamics of the crash.
