Castellanza celebrates new adults with Constitution ceremony

The municipality of Castellanza held a “Welcome to the Eighteen-Year-Olds” ceremony at the Town Hall to celebrate young citizens reaching adulthood. During the event, Mayor Cristina Borroni, youth policy counselor Marco Butti, and culture and education assessor Davide Tarlazzi presented 30 young residents with copies of the Constitution of the Italian Republic.

The ceremony included testimonies from two young people: jazz pianist Samuele Faedda, who discussed his musical journey and scholarship to the Berklee College of Music, and Gabriele Cantore, who spoke about his experience as a blood donor with Avis.

In her address, Mayor Borroni emphasized the civic significance of turning eighteen, describing it as the threshold where citizens begin to exercise their own rights. Counselor Marco Butti also encouraged the youth to participate actively in the community, stating that citizenship is the beginning of a path of responsibility and engagement.
