Castellina in Chianti acquires Strada di Gesù Morto

The Municipality of Castellina in Chianti has officially taken ownership of Strada di Gesù Morto and Via Firenze. This concludes a 50-year process that began when the original owners, Alessandro Falassi and Orlando Orlandi, urbanized the area between 1975 and 1976.

The heirs of the Falassi and Orlandi families fulfilled the original owners' wishes by donating the road to the municipality free of charge. Mayor Giuseppe Stiaccini noted that while bureaucratic hurdles were significant, the donation allows for improved maintenance and the creation of a safer pedestrian path connecting Via Val d’Elsa and Via Fiorentina.
