Castellina in Chianti community dinner raises funds for wildfire association

Approximately 250 people gathered in the Piazza del Comune in Castellina in Chianti for ‘Apparecchiata’, a traditional community dinner involving takeout and home-cooked meals. Organized by the Centro Commerciale Naturale with support from the local administration and the Museo Archeologico del Chianti, the event served as a fundraiser and a celebration of community service.

The event raised approximately 700 euros, which was donated to Associazione La Racchetta. The donation follows the association’s critical role in combating regional wildfires, specifically the major fire on August 14. Additionally, seventeen local associations were recognized with plaques for their community contributions throughout 2026.

Mayor Giuseppe Stiaccini praised the high level of participation and the importance of local associations in driving cultural, sporting, and social activities within the territory.
