Castellón Airport hits record passenger and operation numbers

Castellón Airport has achieved record-breaking activity levels, marking a significant turnaround for the facility. Between January and July, the airport recorded 8,535 aircraft operations, representing a 14% year-on-year increase. This growth includes a diverse range of flight types, such as regular, charter, private, training, and maintenance flights.

Passenger numbers have also reached historic highs. From January to July, the airport handled 197,256 passengers, an 11.6% increase compared to the previous year. July specifically set a new monthly record with 49,250 passengers, a 19% rise over July of the previous year.

Raquel París, General Director of Aerocas, noted that the variety of traffic demonstrates the versatility of the facilities. Following a record year in 2025, current trends suggest the airport is on track to potentially surpass those figures by 2026.
