Castellón authorities announce investments in Catí infrastructure and heritage

The Diputación de Castellón has announced several infrastructure and heritage investments in the municipality of Catí.

A collaboration agreement with the Obispado de Tortosa has resulted in a 29,400 euro investment to restore the mural paintings in the second chapel of the Mare de Déu de l'Avellà hermitage. The technical intervention involved transferring the paintings to an inert panel and creating a ventilated chamber to prevent moisture infiltration and salt efflorescence, addressing issues that persisted after previous restorations.

Additionally, the Diputación de Castellón has established a 200,000 euro agreement with the Catí City Council to renew part of the local potable water network. This project focuses on the pipeline located on Sant Ana Street near the Avellà road, aiming to reduce water loss, improve service efficiency, and optimize hydraulic resource management.
