Castellón begins issuing occupation licenses in Marjaleria

The City Council of Castellón has begun issuing the first provisional occupation licenses to regularize housing in the Marjaleria district. So far, 25 property owners have applied for this process, which aims to address a long-standing demand from local residents.

Sergio Toledo, the Councilor for Urban Development, noted that the procedure allows families to legalize their properties if they meet specific criteria. To qualify, homes must have been constructed before August 20, 2014, fall within applicable municipal zones, and be compatible with current urban planning regulations.

Technical requirements include having road access and meeting minimum standards for habitability, safety, and sanitation. Properties must also have access to potable water and a connection to the sewage system or an accredited alternative solution.
