Castellón political leaders demand urgent flood prevention works

The People's Party of Castellón (PPCS) has called on the Spanish government to urgently execute pending works in the ravines and riverbeds of the province to mitigate flood risks. Salvador Aguilella, the PPCS general secretary, warned that municipalities such as Burriana, Nules, Moncofa, Benicàssim, Oropesa, Benicarló, and Alcalà de Xivert remain exposed to flooding during heavy rain events like DANA.

Aguilella emphasized that the responsibility for these preventative measures lies with the State, specifically the Ministry for the Ecological Transition and the Júcar Hydrographic Confederation. He demanded a clear calendar, funding, and execution plan to ensure public safety and prevent future flood damage.
