Castellón prepares for 2027 Magdalena festival competitions

The Municipal Patronage of Festivals in Castellón has approved the guidelines for several competitions for the 2027 Magdalena festivities. These include the Festes de Castelló, Llibrets, and Carros Engalanados contests.

The Festes de Castelló competition is open to legally constituted cultural associations, while the Llibrets competition is reserved for the 19 sector commissions registered with the Patronage. Prizes for the Llibrets of the gaiatas include 750, 350, and 250 euros, with an additional 200 euros for the best cover. A new award of 250 euros will be granted for the best unpublished article regarding the people and trades that make the Magdalena possible, provided the work is original and contains no content generated by artificial intelligence.

The XVIII Carros Engalanados contest will offer prizes of 650, 350, and 200 euros. Additionally, the local government is reviewing regulations for the installation and operation of seating for the main parades.
