Castellón Provincial Council announces new social and tourism subsidies
The Provincial Council of Castellón has launched two distinct subsidy programs aimed at social welfare and economic development within the province.
To support senior citizens, the institution has allocated 70,000 euros to fund sociocultural excursions. These grants are available to associations for retirees, pensioners, women, and homemakers. The initiative, highlighted by Social Welfare Deputy Marisa Torlà, aims to promote active aging and improve quality of life through productive leisure activities.
Simultaneously, the Provincial Tourism Board has approved 760,000 euros to hire tourist information officers across 99 municipalities. This investment, which represents a 6.29% increase over the 2025 budget, is designed to enhance visitor services and combat depopulation by generating local employment. President Marta Barrachina stated the program aims to ensure high-quality information services and support smaller towns in maintaining tourism offices for longer periods throughout the year.
