Castellón to install 10 new chilled water fountains
The city of Castellón is expanding its network of public chilled water fountains by installing 10 new units across various neighborhoods and high-traffic areas. This expansion increases the total number of available fountains from five to 15.
Mayor Begoña Carrasco stated that the initiative responds to citizen demand and aims to facilitate hydration, combat high temperatures, and reduce single-use plastic consumption. The new locations include Playa Gurugú, Playa Serradal, Plaza Miquel Soler, Plaza Vilanova d’Alcolea, and the Railway Station, among others.
The fountains provide filtered and chilled water, utilizing ultraviolet light systems to ensure constant hygiene and water quality.
