Castello De Notaris in Lupara partially reopens after restoration

The Castello De Notaris in Lupara, Molise, has partially reopened to the public following several years of closure and restoration work. The initial reopening includes three rooms and a renovated garden, representing approximately 15 percent of the 20 total rooms within the complex.

The restoration project is being funded by a 325,000 euro ministerial grant, with work on the remaining seventeen rooms expected to continue through September. The castle, which sits at the highest point of the village near the Church of Santa Maria Assunta, serves as a historical landmark reflecting the area's feudal past.

A reopening event featured local officials, including Mayor Giancarlo Di Lonardis and Molise Regional Councilor Fabio Cofelice, alongside members of the Terzo Millennio association dressed in historical attire to commemorate the site's heritage.
