Castelnovo ne' Monti Hospital Gets New Ultrasound in Memory of Fabio Torlai

A modern Esaote ultrasound system equipped with artificial‑intelligence features and thyroid‑biopsy probes was delivered to the Sant'Anna Hospital in Castelnovo ne' Monti. The donation was made by Fondazione Grade, the Associazione Amici di Fabio and the Circolo Costa dé Grassi to honour the late Fabio Torlai, who died in 2023. Local officials—including President Francesco Merli, municipal assessors, Carabinieri commander Maj. Marco Spinelli, former mayor Enrico Bini and current mayor Emanuele Ferrari—joined hospital director Davide Fornaciari and district director Antonio Poli at the ceremony. The device will serve the polyclinics of the district, supporting diagnosis and treatment of thyroid disorders that are prevalent in the mountainous area due to low iodine levels, and will be shared among vascular surgery, internal medicine and paediatrics teams.
