Castiglione Messer Marino joins Italy’s Città dei Motori network

The municipality of Castiglione Messer Marino in the province of Chieti, Abruzzo, became the 40th member of the Città dei Motori network, an association of Italian towns that showcase motor‑industry heritage. The town’s link to the family of five‑time Formula 1 world champion Juan Manuel Fangio was highlighted as a cultural asset.

Local and national officials said the admission will boost tourism and sustainable development. Luigi Zironi, mayor of Maranello and head of the network, noted the town will be featured during the fourth Italian Motor Week (19‑27 September). Mayor Silvana De Palma described the membership as a milestone for the community’s institutional, cultural and economic identity, while regional councilor Vincenzo Menna emphasized the broader benefit for the Abruzzo territory.
