Spanish municipalities reinforce local police forces with new recruits
Various municipalities across Spain are reinforcing their local police forces through new appointments and training completions. In Castilla-La Mancha, 123 new agents have completed a nine-month training course involving 1,700 hours of instruction. These officers will be deployed across 48 municipalities, serving a combined population of over 840,000 people. This cohort includes 31 women, marking the highest female representation in the history of these training courses.
Individual municipal updates include the incorporation of new officers in Villacañas, Cuenca, Alovera, and Jaén. In Jaén, three new agents have joined the force, bringing the total to nearly 170, with 16 more expected to join following training. Ciudad Real has also added seven new officials, six of whom are joining its newly created Neighborhood Police (Policía de Barrio). Additionally, Torrevieja is managing a significant recruitment drive with over 140 permanent positions open to strengthen various departments, including local police and social welfare.
