Castilla-La Mancha expands ASTRA public transport services

The regional government of Castilla-La Mancha is expanding the ASTRA public transport service in both the Cuenca and Ciudad Real provinces to improve regional mobility.

In Cuenca, starting October 5, the ASTRA service between Arcas and Cuenca will be extended to include the Villa Román and Villa Luz neighborhoods. This new itinerary will provide direct connections to the University Hospital of Cuenca. The service will operate 17 hours daily, with five frequencies on weekdays, three on Saturdays, and one on Sundays. Strategic stops include Clara Campoamor, Ronda Oeste, Isaac Albéniz, Ágora, and Ángeles Gasset.

In Ciudad Real, the ASTRA service has been launched in Carrión de Calatrava, joining existing routes in Poblete and Pozuelo de Calatrava. This expansion aims to connect residents directly to essential locations such as the University, the General Hospital, local institutes, and the bus station. Officials noted that the service in the province has already facilitated 14,000 trips between Poblete, Pozuelo, and Ciudad Real.
