Castilla-La Mancha extends vineyard removal application deadline
The regional government of Castilla-La Mancha has extended the deadline for viticulturists to request authorization for vineyard removal. While initial reports indicated a deadline of October 15, the official modification published in the Diario Oficial de Castilla-La Mancha extends the period for the 2026/2027 campaign until November 3, 2026.
This 19-day extension aims to reduce uncertainty for producers. Many removal requests are contingent upon the approval of restructuring and reconversion subsidies, the final resolution of which is expected in mid-October. By adjusting the administrative calendar, the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, and Rural Development ensures farmers can confirm their funding status before committing to vineyard removal plans.
Producers must be registered in the Viticultural Registry of Castilla-La Mancha to apply. Once an authorized removal is completed, farmers must also notify the administration by April 30 of the relevant campaign year to allow for field verification.
