Castilla-La Mancha increases hunting quotas for 2026/2027 season
The 2026/2027 hunting season has commenced in Castilla-La Mancha with significant adjustments to species quotas. The regional government has doubled the permitted capture limits for female deer, fallow deer, roe deer, and Spanish ibex.
Additionally, male deer and fallow deer quotas have increased by 30%, while wild boar hunting remains unlimited within regional hunting estates. Authorities recommend prioritizing the capture of young animals and females to manage population levels, mitigate crop damage, and prevent traffic accidents.
The general big game season is scheduled to run until February 21, 2027. Small game hunting, including rabbits and foxes, is permitted until February 8, 2027. The regional administration reported approximately 108,614 active hunting licenses for the current period.
