Castilla-La Mancha invests 500,000 euros in sheep farming research
The regional government of Castilla-La Mancha is investing approximately 500,000 euros into two research projects aimed at enhancing the sustainability and productivity of sheep farming.
Located at Finca La Granja in Torre de Juan Abad, the initiatives include the NUTRIPAST project, which focuses on improving the nutritional quality of raw milk Manchego cheese through regenerative feeding management, and the OVEJA REGENERA project. The latter proposes a transition from extensive management to a planned holistic or rotational grazing model across the dehesa.
These three-year research projects aim to generate practical knowledge that can be shared across the regional agricultural sector to promote more efficient and sustainable production models.
