Castilla-La Mancha launches 30‑day public consultation on Universal Accessibility Law
The regional government of Castilla‑La Mancha announced a new 30‑day public information and participation period for the draft Universal Accessibility Law. Commissioner for Accessibility José Luis Escudero made the announcement during a visit to the ILUNION TextilCare plant in Marchamalo, Guadalajara, highlighting the company's inclusive workplace as a model for the forthcoming regulation.
The draft, updated after an earlier round of citizen input that yielded over a hundred proposals, will be posted on the Castilla‑La Mancha Participation Portal. Authorities invite individuals, entities, companies and public administrations to review the text and submit additional suggestions, particularly concerning labor‑market accessibility. The consultation is intended to finalize the proposal before it proceeds to formal legislative processing.
Escudero stressed that the law aims to create universally accessible environments across both public and private sectors, with a strong focus on ensuring equal employment opportunities for people with disabilities.
