Castilla-La Mancha launches alumni volunteer program to prevent school dropout

The Government of Castilla-La Mancha is launching an educational volunteering program designed to combat early school dropout rates. The initiative encourages former vocational training (FP) and university students to return to publicly funded educational centers to serve as mentors and role models.

Targeting students in vulnerable situations, the altruistic program integrates with existing regional frameworks such as PROA+, the Success Plan, and Learning Communities. Volunteers participate in various activities, including interactive groups, dialogic discussions, academic support, and coexistence workshops. They also provide academic guidance and share their own professional and educational journeys to provide accessible examples for current students.

The program aims to reduce dropout rates, promote social participation, and improve academic results and coexistence within schools by fostering more inclusive and participatory learning environments.
