Castilla-La Mancha launches female pilot selection project

The Castilla-La Mancha regional government has introduced the ‘Selección Femenina de Pilotos de Carcross’ project, an initiative designed to increase female visibility and equality in motorsports. Supported and funded by the regional Ministry of Equality, the program aims to select a female driver, aged between 14 and 18, to compete in an official round of the Spanish Rallycross Championship (CERX).

The project, driven by Autoclub La Dehesa, will proceed in several stages. Personal interviews are scheduled for September 13, followed by practical selection trials at the La Dehesa Circuit on September 26. The selected pilot will compete in the 2nd CERX Rallycross at MotorLand Aragón in Alcañiz on November 7 and 8.

Equality Minister Sara Simón stated that the initiative seeks to provide real opportunities to young women in a sport where female presence remains minimal. The project does not require prior experience, aiming to create a path for future female competitors.
