Castilla-La Mancha approves 2027 spending ceiling and Transition anniversary program
The regional government and parliament of Castilla-La Mancha have reached several key milestones. The Cortes de Castilla-La Mancha approved the 2027 expenditure ceiling, set at nearly 10.02 billion euros, representing an 11.3% increase. This approval allows the regional government to proceed with the formal legislative process for the 2027 General Budgets.
To commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Spanish Transition, the region has launched ‘50 años juntos’ (50 years together). The program includes over 500 activities across more than 200 municipalities, featuring exhibitions, musical events, and theatrical performances designed to highlight the period between 1976 and 1983.
In environmental and economic news, Aemet reported that the summer of 2026 was the warmest on record for the region, with an average temperature of 25.9 degrees Celsius and a 43% decrease in typical rainfall. Additionally, regional officials highlighted the impact of European Common Agricultural Policy (PAC) funds in supporting local rural businesses, specifically in the Toledo province.
