Castilla-La Mancha Plan Corresponsables reaches 70,000 minors

The Castilla-La Mancha Equality Counselor, Sara Simón, has highlighted the impact of the regional government’s ‘Plan Corresponsables’. The initiative has reportedly facilitated the participation of over 70,000 minors in reconciliation activities and generated approximately 3,500 jobs annually, the majority of which are held by women.

During a visit to the ‘Sin cole en los barrios’ program in Guadalajara, Simón noted that the Guadalajara City Council has received over 1.74 million euros in funding across five editions of the plan. She emphasized the need to address the gender gap in caregiving, noting that 92% of people in the region requesting reduced working hours for childcare are women.

Simón stated that the regional government aims to continue the plan to support municipalities and promote social awareness regarding caregiving responsibilities. The sixth edition of the program is already underway, with the participation of the five provincial councils.
