Castilla-La Mancha president pledges AI will not replace public officials

Emiliano García-Page, President of Castilla-La Mancha, has addressed concerns regarding the impact of artificial intelligence on the workforce. During the inauguration of the new Administrative City in Ciudad Real, Page assured that no public official or civil servant will become a victim of AI-driven automation.

Recognizing the global debate over rapid technological advancement and its potential to reduce staff, the regional government aims to develop an AI transition strategy in agreement with labor unions. Page acknowledged societal anxiety regarding job security, noting that while AI can assist in tasks such as medical diagnostics and file processing, the goal is to manage the transition through pacts rather than displacement.
