Castilla-La Mancha reports on summer social services and fire recovery

The Castilla-La Mancha Government has reported the results of its summer pilot program for ‘Puntos Amparo’, a mobile unit designed to combat sexual and gender-based violence. Operating between June and September, the two midibuses visited various festivals and fairs across provinces including Albacete, Ciudad Real, Toledo, Cuenca, and Guadalajara. The initiative assisted 2,028 individuals, consisting of 1,436 women and 592 men, by providing information and resources. Equality Minister Sara Simón described the results as “very positive,” noting that the service also allowed professionals to provide specialized psychological and social work support to women reporting past violence.

Separately, recovery efforts are underway in the Sierra Norte region of Guadalajara following the La Mierla forest fire. The regional government is replacing 82 vertical road signs on the CM-110 and CM-1001 highways that were damaged by flames or smoke. This work is part of a broader regional program to renew 68,000 signs by June 2027, involving an investment of 8.7 million euros to improve road safety and visibility.
