Castilla y León agrifood sector seeks university alignment and grid upgrades

The agrifood industry in Castilla y León has entered a new phase of institutional collaboration following an agreement between the regional government and the Vitartis business association. The partnership aims to bridge the gap between university training and the employment needs of more than 2,700 regional companies by training students in key disciplines and highlighting local job opportunities.

During the meeting, industry representatives expressed urgent concerns regarding electrical supply limitations. They have called on the Spanish government to expedite the 2025-2030 grid planning, requesting new substations and reinforced installations. The regional administration also intends to work with Vitartis to simplify administrative procedures for food companies, maintaining the sector's status as a strategic priority within the III Industrial Promotion Master Plan.
