Castilla y León allocates 1.6 million euros to 95 health research projects
The Castilla y León Ministry of Health and Social Welfare, through the Regional Health Management, has allocated 1.6 million euros to fund 95 health research projects for 2026. This initiative is part of the region's Strategic Plan for Health Research and Innovation 2023-2027, aiming to bridge the gap between scientific advancement and clinical practice.
The selected projects cover a wide range of medical fields, including personalized medicine, oncology, cardiovascular diseases, mental health, aging, and community health. Technological integration is a key component, with research utilizing artificial intelligence, data analysis, telemedicine, virtual reality, and genetic characterization.
Funding is distributed across the nine provinces of Castilla y León. Salamanca received the highest number of projects with 40, followed by Valladolid with 32. León will host seven initiatives, while Burgos has five. Soria and El Bierzo will each have three projects, and Palencia, Segovia, Zamora, and Ávila will each host one.
